We travel to universities across the Netherlands. Share your university with us and we’ll check the campus and surroundings beforehand to help plan the session.
Bring your diploma, certificate, graduation cap, gown or university sash if you have them. Not every university has the traditional graduation look, so don’t worry if you don’t have a cap or gown. Flowers or other small graduation details are also welcome.
Parents, your partner, friends or classmates can join for part of your session. We’ll make sure you get individual graduation portraits as well as photos with the people who came to celebrate with you.
Wear your ceremony outfit, something formal or simply something that feels like you. If you’d like to change outfits during the session, let us know beforehand so we can plan the shoot accordingly.

A PhD defense is a carefully structured occasion, and you can stay fully present while photography takes care of itself.
With experience photographing PhD defenses, we understand the flow, formalities and protocol of the day. We arrive before the defense, familiarise ourselves with the schedule and work discreetly around the ceremony, documenting the important moments, reactions and people naturally as they unfold.
Afterwards, we shift into portraits, guiding individual photos, family portraits, colleagues and group combinations. We will deliver a complete PhD defense photography gallery that brings together both the significance of the ceremony and the celebration that follows.
